Hot 15 Prospects

The USHL has been picked pretty clean by this point in the season. The prospects ready to play in ’08 compare favorably to other leagues, but for youth, look for our neighbors to the north. The Canadians leaning towards the NCAA route have three of the top five spots.

Morin’s future status remains in question, but as perhaps the top American ’91, he’s staying on the list until it’s confirmed that he signed a contract.

Hot 15 Prospects
1. Jeremy Morin (91/F) – USNTDP
2. Chris Kreider (91/F) -- Phillips Andover
3. Kevin Clare (92/D) – Jersey Hitmen -- EJHL
4. Matt Mackay (90/F) – Calgary Canucks – AJHL

5. Danny Biega (91/D) – Salisbury Prep
6. Shane Sooth (92/F) – Salisbury Prep
7. Anthony Hamburg (91/F) – Dallas Stars
8. Brandon Saad (92/F) – Pittsburgh
9. Emerson Etem (92/F) – Shattuck
10. Chris Bournazos (90/F) – Team Illinois
11. David Valek (91/F) – USNTDP

12. Matt Leitner (90/F) -- Ohio - USHL
13. Chris Knowlton (89/F) -- Des Moines - USHL
14. Dylan Olsen (91/D) -- Camrose Kodiaks -- AJHL
15. Anders Lee (90/F) -- Edina -- MSHSL

Others to Consider
Steven Johns (92/D) – Pittsburgh

Ross Henry (90/D) – Lincoln – USHL
Tyler Landman (90/F) – Roseau – MSHSL
Sam Alfieri (91/F) – Shattuck
James Werner (90/F) – Team Illinois
John Ramage (91/D) -- St. Louis -- NAHL

I'm suprised you don't have Kyle Bonis (89) on this list, plays for Traverse City in the NAHL

CHRE said...

Kyle Bonis, really?? I think if I had anybody from the NAHL, it would be Ben Miller first and Mike Merrifield second.

Look at the stats .I've watched all of these players. Bonis can flat out score and has only been in the NAHL since thanksgiving.Talk from the ushl is he will be in Indy next season with Palifito the goalie.

what about eric filiou in nanaimo? Pretty sure he's going the NCAA route.

Does anyone know anything about Sergei Korostin from the Russian Hockey League now playing for the Texas Tornado? Is he looking for a schollie? Is he eligible for the NCAA?

hamburg plays for the dallas stars aaa now.

Who's looking at Landman?
That kid is going to be good.

Waht about Clarke with Ruseel Stover? He should be on this list. Is he with Fargo? I've heard he's still available.

Clarke committed to North Dakota

Daugherty of Dallas Stars AAA much stronger prospect (91)than Hamburg.
6'2" won the skills competition at nationals, plays with attitude.

The two played have been playing on the same line for the last two years. Hamburg I believe led team in points, Daugherty second. Hamburg had more points the Daugherty at nationals. Both strong prospects and should committ soon.

If any player from the Dallas area should be on the list it is Michael Hill. He had like 90 points this season on a mediocre team. He was every teams concern when playing the Alliance and still he ended up scoring 50 goals. I heard he was the leading scorer at the Fargo Force camp this month.

Jeremy Langlois of the Hitmen in the EJHL already has multiple D1 offers

I do believe Ryan Daugherty is going to be a first rounder this summer.

But I'm not too sure about this Hamburg.

But I did see Lloyd Ross a 5"11 Center from Texas, that hadn't played a game since 8th grade having had 4 concussions. A junior now, played excellent in Massachusetts. Flashy speed. Most likely playing ejhl next year.

Dallas' Best Prospects?

Daugherty yea, Definitley a first rounder along with Chris Brown playing for Team USA U-18, playing at the University of Michigan Next Year.

Tyler Amburgey is also a draft pick for the 2009 draft. I would say 5th-7th round.

In regards to the 2010 NHL Draft and Dallas Players, I would be interested in watching Hamburg, and Jake Fallon. Michael Williams is another player I have my eyes on. Very strong kid.

Lloyd Ross? I hadn't seen him skate in a very long time. I remember him being a smaller lazy player. Had lots of talent, tremendous skater but was just too lazy in games.

and When and where did you see Lloyd Play?

ya 2010 should be interesting with hamburg, and fallon another player I forgot to mention. i would say they are sure bet draft picks. Fallon a big kid with NTDP is very quick. But hamburg 6"2 is very promising

Williams is another player with a good year playing Juniors or maybe Dallas Stars AAA could have draft potential.

Williams is a very strong kid I think, kinda a scorer type.
Ross your right, I have heard was lazy in the past. But his game has dramatically improved, One of the best skaters I have ever seen. May need to sharpen his shooting skills. But his beautiful skating and stickhandling skills will allow him to get where he wants to be. But his strengths are passing and playing that center position getting the puck to his wings.

USHL daft coming up should be very good there are a ;ot of promising players. Two play for my team Stephen Mattos and Joe Foti. Mattos is a very fast foward who sees the ice very well and he can finish. Foti a very solid defensemen who can get up into the action and rush the puck. Should be interesting to see of they decide to go to the USHL this year or wait until next year.
